Digital painting that I started last night, and finished just a few minutes ago... I love having time to just sit and paint! Thank Goodness for summer!
I used two reference photos from  , her dA gallery is stunning! If you like cetaceans, check it out for sure!  I was in a sort of funk, couldn't find anything to draw, and then I looked back at poll results, many of those who responded wanted to see 'some other cetacean'... and I figured I'd never drawn a Commerson's Dolphin before... LOVE the way I did the water this time... I studied a whole bunch of photos, at super high magnification, looking for a new strategy... and I think I found one I like! So pleased with it!  Also happy with the shading, white is never the easiest colour... also like the water webbing... all in all I'm thrilled with this one! Photoshop CS4 About 8 hours from start to finish... Comments

The style you've used really adds to the realism of the picture. The shading looks great as always; and I really like the angle you've chosen for the Commies.
