Digital Painting of Kelowna and her Calf

This painting was based on a couple of photos that I took of Kelowna and her baby the first time I saw the pair (when the calf was only a few hours old). I was struck by just how happy Kelowna looked. She often swam with her eyes closed, and what looked like a big smile on her face. The calf has since become VERY large, and very round :D

Probably took about 7 hours, although I finished it more than a month ago. It was something that I worked on while waiting to register for next year's courses. I'll never understand why registration opens at midnight, instead of a more reasonable time...
