Digital Painting of an Jake Sully from Avatar
Painted from scratch in Photoshop CS4, using a wallpaper for reference.
Probably about 15 hours of work, give or take.

So I finally saw Avatar this Monday, and had to do some kind of fanart! The movie was so visually epic, and the quality of the 3D was unlike anything I'd ever seen before... and it doesn't hurt that I LOVE Sam Worthington!
If you haven't seen it, see it in 3D, you really won't regret it!
I know the likeness isn't perfect, but it was a relatively quick painting for me. I don't often draw/paint humans, so it was a challenge, but that was part of the idea behind it... without challenges, there isn't any way to learn and improve!
I don't know if you can tell, but the division between the two faces is supposed to be one of the branches from the tree of souls... not sure if it turned out right or not, I couldn't find any good reference photos, so had to go from memory.
Shoutout to Sara aka *all4athena for the title idea lol... great part of the movie
