Thought it was about time that I painted a barn owl... I love them. They are such beautiful birds! I actually got to hold one a few years ago, it was an awesome experience. Plus, I've always adored the movie Labyrinth. One of my all time favourites! When I'm feeling off for whatever reason, sometimes that movie is just what I need. Escaping to the Labyrinth
I was putting off painting a barn owl because of the crazy patterns on their feathers... and it was a significant challenge. In the end, I took a short cut, and made a custom brush to help me with the patterns. Not 100% thrilled with it, but I want to move on to a new project. My muse has a short attention span.
