Sorry about the copious watermarks. They aren’t going anywhere. Don’t ask. I am SO proud of this project so far, and would hate to see any part of this turn up somewhere else.
Please note that I don't have time to say "thank you" for every favourite, but I appreciate them all nonetheless! Thank you all for your support!!!
Here's my first post for my most recent project... this is something that I've been mulling over for well over a year. An idea that has rolled around in the back of my mind for far too long!
This is a door knocker from the movie "Labyrinth". I plan to make more of these, because I had a fantastic time painting it and putting it together! I wanted to keep things rough looking, like a book you might actually find in the hands of a goblin. Straight lines are out lol... Based the design on a number of field guides and handbooks that I own. Lots of fun!
About the "Practical Visitor's Guide to the Labyrinth" Project I have handbooks, guide books, and field guides to a million different species of animal, and thought that it would be interesting to make one for the creatures of one of my all time favourite films, Labyrinth! The idea is to create a page (or spread) for the various creatures that Sarah encountered in the Labyrinth.
Feedback? I'm REALLY interested in feedback on these. I do plan to continue working on pages, the worm is going to be next. What other Labyrinth creatures would you like to see? How can I make these better? I'd love any and all feedback!
Vote in my Poll! Got a poll going here: [link] Please vote for the ideas that you would like to see next. Please comment with any additional ideas! Looking for LOTS of ideas here, enough for a good guide book
The overall page design is fantastic. I really like the stained pages, symbolizing that they've been used frequently and are very old. I also really like the wavy, hand-drawn outlines as if the book was handmade.
Thanks so much Jen! I salvaged this project from something that I started ages ago... I started it, and hated how it looked, so gave up... when I uncovered it recently, I kept some elements, but also added a lot of new ones, and took the painting style to a much more detailed level. Originally I was planning on making them look sort of watercolour like... glad I decided against it Thanks again!
Thanks again!
