Also sorry to say that if you don't comment, I probably won't have the time to say thank you! So thanks in advance I guess! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ike, Orca @ Marineland Been trying to get some nice underwater shots of the orca shows FOREVER! It is nearly impossible. My previous attempt can be found here: [link] I really do think that this is much better! lol... Got three in a series, but this was the best of them in my opinion. Anyone have suggestions for shooting the shows underwater? Specifically at Marineland? The pool is filled with little bubbles created by all the movement, which looks like noise... and they tend to jump pretty far from the viewing window... tips would be greatly appreciated I quite like this shot overall. Looks a bit like Ike is wearing a parachute made of bubbles to cushion his belly-flop CommentsI love this photo most of all because of the effect the orca left behind it on the surface of the water. It shows great action! REALLY good shot!

" (Erik, Phantom of the Opera) Rath Dé ort! God be with you. Wow... simply... wow... I've never seen a picture like this... ever. It's really awesome.
I see what you mean by the tiny bubbles and the noise, but the composition is so good that I don't even focus on it! -- UTILISEZ MES PEINTURES SANS MA PERMISSION ÉCRITE ET MOUREZ! Brilliant job with the timing! The surface water looks awesome here (aka the bubble parachute 8D) I didn't really notice the bubbles until you pointed them out! They really don't take anything away from the picture anyway in my opinion - you did really well to catch this shot without bubbles clouding up the entire tank! -- "Shoot for the moon. A massive weight dropped from height into a wide fluid surface...
The impact is great enough to cause the massive depression that's so wonderfully captured here.
I swear I could hear the KRA-THUMP still echoing
I've seen many, many shots of captive Orca jumping & breeching, but this shot's unusual angle is uniquely refreshing.
I know for a fact that trying to photograph aquatic subjects though glass can cause self induced hair loss. This is especially when shooting into larger tanks where water clarity & the magnifier effect can can play havok with DOF.
It's not a problem here; This shot has great focus & depth.
I love the texture of the bubbles streaming up from the pec fins & head,
and the mini bubble ribbons & tornadoes around the tail flukes.
