Phantom of the Opera WIP 1

WIP 1 for my newest drawing, Gerard Butler as the Phantom of the Opera.

Started this quite some time ago... but with eveything going on in my life, I've been so stressed, it was really coming out horribly. When I'm really stressed, I can't do anything artistic, and not being able to do anything artistic stresses me out even more... so what's normally an outlet becomes a problem... ugh... I have had the worst month ever. 2008 sucks... majorly.
The first four hours or so of work turned out so bad that I had to all but start from scratch... he looked dirty (and not in a good way! lol), like had had mud on his face or something, which was really irritating, but I've finally got it under control.
Next WIP will be posted as soon as possible.

QUESTION: Should the rose be red? I'm strongly considering doing the Rose in Red... I really like the idea, but I'd love some input... thanks!
