Description
Digital Painting of Ketu one of the two Snow Leopard cubs at the Buffalo Zoo
Painted in Photoshop CS5, using one of my own photos as reference.
About 9 hours of work.
Please note that I don't have time to say "thank you" for every favourite, but I appreciate them all nonetheless! Thank you all for your support!!!
I was unsure of whether or not to start a detailed portrait, seeing as I am now back to school full time, but I had a photo that I loved as a potential reference (it was blurry and ruined by horrible glare on the viewing glass window, but had such a cute expression, I couldn't waste it!). I'm glad I started it however, because it was really fun to work on, and came together so quickly!
About the Painting
I am thrilled with the cub's eye, and the fur in general... I decided to keep some of the fur on his body a bit rough, in order to maintain a more traditional art sort of look (I think it worked).
About the Title
The title was a logical one for me, I was in an awful art block, and these cubs saved me! I took a break, stepped back from art, and waited for inspiration... these cubs delivered! Getting to interact with them just made me love them that much more
